In line with the goal to attain a gender-responsive governance, the Bureau of Animal Industry (BAI) has conducted its 2016 Gender and Development (GAD) Year End Assessment and Planning Workshop held on November 9-11, 2016 at the El Cielito Hotel, Makati City.

The said workshop aimed to assess the 2016 GAD accomplishments, review the 2017 GAD Plan and Budget and propose for 2018 GAD activities.
Among the activities that the BAI will implement for the succeeding years include the mainstreaming of gender equality, conduct of trainings on livestock production and assessment of the women's involvement in livestock program activities.

Ms. Emelina A. Lopez, GAD Focal Person, expressed her appreciation to the participants for their continued support to GAD program. She further encouraged them to propose other activities that will enhance the abilities of women and men for them to contribute and benefit from the national development.
With the implementation of GAD program in the agency, the BAI anticipates to build a sound understanding on the importance of addressing gender issue in livestock programs, projects and activities.
